Quando l’Enterprise viene richiamata a casa, l’equipaggio scopre che una terrificante e inarrestabile forza proveniente dall’interno stesso dell’organizzazione ha devastato la flotta e tutto quello che rappresenta, lasciando il nostro mondo in uno stato di crisi. Con un conto in sospeso molto personale da pagare, il Capitano Kirk guida una caccia all’uomo in un mondo in guerra per catturare una vera e propria arma umana di distruzione di massa.
