Svelati tutti i dettagli del cofanetto in Blu-ray de Il Signore degli Anelli – Limited Extended Edition, l’edizione estesa della trilogia di Peter Jackson in alta definizione di cui vi avevamo già parlato.
La Warner Bros. ha annunciato la data di uscita negli States (il 28 giugno 2011; per l’Italia non c’è ancora una data ufficiale) mentre il fansite di i JRR Tolkien ha pubblicato tutti i dettagli del cofanetto. Ben 15 dischi che, oltre ai 3 film della saga in versione Blu-ray, offriranno più di 26 ore di contenuti speciali tra Blu-ray e Dvd. Tra questi, i commenti del regista, cast artistico e tecnico, diversi approfondimenti sugli effetti speciali e i tre documentari realizzati dal regista neozelandese Costa Botes sul dietro le quinte della trilogia (già inclusi in una limited edition delle edizioni cinematografiche in Dvd qualche anno fa). Oltre all’alta definizione visiva, anche l’audio originale inglese è stato “tirato a nuovo” e presentato in 6.1 DTS-HD MA, mentre per la Compagnia dell’Anello l’audio sarà una rimasterizzazione dei file originali in 2K.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
In their parallel journeys, the Fellowship will stand against the powerful forces spreading from the Two Towers — Orthanc Tower in Isengard, where Saruman has bred a lethal army of 10,000 strong; and Sauron’s fortress at Barad-dûr, deep within the dark lands of Mordor. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers culminates in the astonishing battle for the refuge, Helm’s Deep, the Kingdom of Rohan’s ancient large stone fortress, besieged by Uruk-hai warriors. The final battle for Middle-earth begins.
