Per anni Patrick (Adam Sandler) si è inventato una moglie immaginaria per riuscire a non avere legami duraturi con le donne. Quando incontra Palmer (Brooklyn Decker) scopre che è la ragazza dei suoi sogni e decide di non mentire più. Ma Palmer scopre la fede “finta” di Patrick e chiede spiegazioni.
