Un avvocato torna nella sua città natale per partecipare al funerale della madre. Il soggiorno, però, si prolungherà più del previsto quando il padre, stimato giudice, verrà accusato di omicidio. Spetterà al figlio difenderlo, ma il rapporto da sempre conflittuale con il genitore non renderà le cose facili.
