Il film ripercorre la carriera del leader di WikiLeaks, dagli esordi fino al boom del 2010, quando il sito balzò in testa alle cronache di tutto il mondo in seguito al rilascio di una tonnellata di informazioni riservate su governi e altri apparati politici di tutto il globo. Al centro della storia, inoltre, ci sarà il rapporto tra l’hacker australiano e il numero due della sua organizzazione, il tedesco Daniel Domscheit-Berg.
