Interamente realizzato in computer grafica, il film si colloca nella cronologia di Star Wars tra Episodio II – L’attacco dei cloni ed Episodio III – La vendetta dei Sith. I giovani Anakin Skywalker e Obi-Wan Kenobi intraprendono un viaggio attraverso la galassia e si ritrovano coinvolti nella guerra dei cloni. Incontreranno il Conte Dooku, il Generale Grievous, Asajj Ventress e Ahsoka Tano, la giovane apprendista Jedi di Anakin.
