Keller Dover è un padre di famiglia di Boston. Un giorno sua figlia di sei anni e una sua amica vengono rapite. Sul caso indaga un giovane agente della polizia, che però a detta del genitore non fa abbastanza per trovare le piccole scomparse. Così Keller decide di farsi giustizia da solo e quando un sospettato viene catturato, l’uomo lo rapisce e comincia a torturarlo nel disperato tentativo di scoprire se le due bambine sono ancora vive.
